We’ve got some exciting news over here at Riveo, and yes, we’re absolutely taking a moment to celebrate it.
Riveo Creative has earned a Platinum Medal from EcoVadis, placing us in the top 1% of companies assessed globally for sustainability performance. That’s a huge milestone for our team, and one we’re incredibly proud of.
Last year, we shared that we had earned a Gold Medal, which recognized us among the top-performing companies in the world for our corporate social responsibility and sustainability efforts. Receiving Platinum this year feels especially meaningful because it reflects something we care deeply about: continuing to strengthen the way we work so our values are backed by real action.
For us, sustainability is an ongoing commitment—one that shapes our decisions, our operations, and the way we show up for our clients, partners, and community.
What EcoVadis recognition actually means
If EcoVadis is new to you, here’s the simple version: it’s one of the world’s most trusted providers of business sustainability ratings. Their assessment looks at how well a company’s sustainability management system addresses key areas of social and environmental responsibility.
Companies are evaluated across four themes:
- Environment
- Labor & Human Rights
- Ethics
- Sustainable Procurement
Based on those results, companies may earn a medal that reflects how they compare to all assessed businesses over the previous 12 months.
Here’s the breakdown:
- Platinum: Top 1%
- Gold: Top 5%
- Silver: Top 15%
- Bronze: Top 35%
So a Platinum Medal is a pretty big deal. It means Riveo Creative’s sustainability efforts are being recognized at the highest medal level EcoVadis awards, and that recognition reflects the systems, policies, and actions we’ve worked hard to strengthen over time.
Why this matters to us
At Riveo Creative, sustainability isn’t separate from our work. It’s part of how we think, how we operate, and how we define success. We’re a creative company, but we also believe creativity comes with responsibility. That means asking better questions about how we produce work, how we support people, how we show up in our communities, and how we reduce harm where we can.
This recognition matters because it reinforces the idea that creative businesses can and should be leaders too. You don’t have to be a giant corporation to take sustainability seriously. You don’t have to do everything perfectly to make meaningful progress. You do have to be intentional, accountable, and willing to keep learning. That’s the part we’re committed to.
What’s helped us move forward
Our Platinum Medal didn’t happen because of one single initiative. It reflects the bigger picture of how we’ve been building Riveo Creative over time.
That includes continuing to invest in practices and priorities like:
- Remote video production and streamlined workflows: We use remote production tools and thoughtful planning to reduce unnecessary travel and support more efficient ways of working.
- Tracking and improving our environmental impact: We’ve worked to better understand and strengthen our sustainability practices, because progress starts with paying attention.
- A deeper commitment to people and inclusion: Our efforts around inclusive practices, ethical leadership, and accountability are part of the foundation—not an afterthought.
- Values-led decision making: From the partners we work with to the systems we build internally, we’re always aiming to align our operations with what we say we stand for.
None of this is about checking boxes. It’s about creating a business that reflects our values in real, tangible ways.
From progress to momentum
What makes this milestone even more special is that it builds on the progress we’ve already made.
Moving from a Gold Medal to a Platinum Medal is exciting, of course. But more than that, it’s encouraging. It tells us that the work matters. That consistency matters. Those small, intentional choices made over time can add up to something meaningful.
And honestly? That’s a message we need to hear more often.
Sustainability can feel overwhelming when you only think about it in giant leaps. But real change often happens through steady commitment, better systems, and a willingness to keep improving year after year.
That’s how we see this moment. Not as a finish line, but as momentum. We’re proud of this recognition, and we’re grateful for it, but we’re not interested in standing still. We plan to keep looking for ways to strengthen our environmental and social impact, improve the way we work, and hold ourselves accountable to the values that shape our company. And if there’s one thing this milestone reminds us, it’s this: doing good work and doing work responsibly should go hand in hand.
We’re celebrating this milestone and then it’s right back to work. Here’s to progress, purpose, and raising the bar! 🌍
