Engaging Stakeholders Through a Video Booth: A Case Study with ICIC
Higher ROI with strategic video recording
Strengthened relationships with stakeholders
01.
Context
To celebrate a milestone anniversary, Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) wanted to highlight the people who make their programs and community thrive. Sponsors, partners, and alumni business owners all play a key role in the organization’s mission, and ICIC wanted to capture their stories in a way that was personal, engaging, and shareable.

Involvement

I personally got to engage with all of the folks who had signed up to be interviewed. There’s a relationship building aspect of having the video booth that I never knew would be as important as it was, but really was tremendously valuable.

Our Approach
We set up a professional video booth at ICIC’s conference, creating a comfortable, inviting space where selected participants could share their “Why”—their motivations, successes, and connection to ICIC. By scheduling interviews strategically throughout the day, we were able to capture a large volume of content efficiently.
This approach not only produced strong video content but also reinforced ICIC’s relationship with key stakeholders by giving them a platform to share their stories.
Benefits of a Video Booth
- Record a large volume of content in one day by interviewing multiple participants on-site
- Leverage having everyone in the same place to efficiently gather stories
- Create highly shareable content that amplifies the event and promotes engagement across social media and marketing channels
- Strengthen relationships by giving stakeholders a platform to be recognized and heard

Outcomes
The video booth produced a library of 24 high-quality videos that ICIC can share across social media, blogs, and their impact report, extending the reach of their anniversary celebration well beyond the conference. By capturing a large volume of interviews in a single day, the team efficiently collected authentic stories that highlight the mission and impact of ICIC’s programs. The experience also strengthened relationships with sponsors, partners, and alumni business owners, providing them a meaningful platform to share their voices while creating versatile content that can be used throughout the year.
