At Riveo Creative, we’ve always believed creativity can move people and build momentum. And when it’s rooted in purpose, it can help create real change.
That belief became even more tangible for us in 2025, when we joined 1% for the Planet, a global network of businesses committed to giving back to environmental causes. Through that commitment, we pledged to donate 1% of our annual revenue to support organizations working to protect the planet for future generations.
But we also knew we wanted to contribute in a way that felt deeply aligned with who we are and what we do best.
That’s how the Riveo Impact Grant was born.
The grant offers one 1% for the Planet Partner a free video production package, valued at $6,250, to help amplify their mission and expand their reach. When we opened applications in June, we were blown away. Every organization that applied shared a compelling vision for change, and choosing just one recipient was no easy task.
In the end, we awarded the grant to SeaSmart, a volunteer-run organization using scuba trips and educational programs to advance ocean conservation and empower young people.
SeaSmart’s work is powerful because it’s hands-on, immersive, and deeply human. They connect students directly with the ocean, giving them the chance to see, touch, and understand the ecosystems they’re learning to protect. For many participants, that experience is transformational. It opens the door to new possibilities in science, sustainability, and environmental leadership.
Their impact extends beyond education, too. SeaSmart supports local sustainable economies in the coastal communities where their programs take place, showing that conservation and community wellbeing can thrive together. Donations to SeaSmart also help fund scholarships, making these opportunities accessible to students from a wide range of backgrounds.
When we learned more about their mission, we knew this was exactly the kind of story the Riveo Impact Grant was created for.
To support SeaSmart, our team partnered with them to create a video that brings their work to life and shows the heart behind their mission. Using interviews captured through our remote video studio along with footage provided by SeaSmart, we crafted a final piece centered on the voices and experiences of those most impacted by their work.
This video helps SeaSmart tell a story that deepens the connection with their stakeholders, builds awareness around their mission, and inspires support.
And because storytelling is never just about the final export, we’re also sharing a behind-the-scenes look at how our team brought this project together!
The behind-the-scenes video offers a closer look at the collaboration, care, and creative problem-solving that shaped this project from start to finish. It highlights the people behind the process and reminds us that meaningful work doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It happens through shared vision, trust, and a team that’s willing to show up wholeheartedly.
This project also reminded us just how much generosity and purpose exist within the 1% for the Planet community. While SeaSmart was selected as the Impact Grant recipient, we couldn’t let the other incredible applicants go unrecognized. We made additional donations to each participating organization in appreciation of their work and in celebration of the shared mission that connects us all.
Launching the Riveo Impact Grant has been one of the most meaningful milestones in our journey so far. It reflects the kind of company we want to be, the kind of stories we want to tell, and the kind of impact we hope to keep building.
