What is a content strategy and why do I need one?

It’s not new information that businesses need to have a digital presence. But knowing what content to post, where to post and how often to post are all questions that need to be addressed. In order to create a content strategy for your business we’ll first conduct our brand workshop, then we’ll do some research and competitive analysis, and come back to you with a comprehensive plan. This plan will be assessed and tweaked periodically, to ensure that you’re getting the best results.

What kind of topics will we cover in the workshop?

We’ll cover a lot of ground in the time we have together. While we personalize each session, some topics that we always cover include: your “why”, your audience’s demographics and psychographics, your marketing SWOT analysis, your competition, your unique value proposition, and how you measure success.

There is so much content out there. How can I differentiate my business?

The best way to stand out is to be yourself. It may sound simplistic, but when you share your story in a way that’s authentic you will naturally draw people in who resonate with your company and your brand. We can guide you through how to share that story, how much of it to share, and where to share it.

Who from my team should attend the brand workshop?

We have run successful brand workshops with as few as 2 people and as many as 20. For most organizations you will want to invite your leadership team and key stakeholders. You also may wish to include a business coach, one or two customers who know you well, or a prospective customer who has knowledge of your brand but who has not yet made a purchase. Those different perspectives about how your brand is perceived can be valuable as we shape our messaging.

How long before I start to see results?

The timeline for seeing results can vary widely based on factors such as your industry, target audience, content quality, consistency, competition, and the platforms you’re using. Generally, it takes time to build brand awareness, trust, and a loyal audience.

In the short term (a few weeks to a few months), you might notice increased engagement and traffic. Medium-term (several months to a year) efforts can lead to improved search engine visibility, audience growth, and possibly some lead generation. Long-term (a year or more) strategies often yield stronger brand authority, higher organic search rankings, and a more substantial, engaged audience.

Remember, content marketing is an ongoing effort, and results compound over time. Consistency, adapting to feedback, refining strategies, and staying current with industry trends are crucial for sustained success.

How will I know that my content and marketing strategies are successful?

Each business will have its own Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that will indicate success. For some, there may be a button that leads directly to a sales page, and we’ll be tracking the percentage of people who click onto the page, who stay on the page, and who engage with the call to action (CTA) button. Others may be measuring newsletter signups, event attendance, or even engagement from a very specific type of customer. Whatever your specific KPIs, you can be sure we’re paying close attention!
